Already at the heart of international news with the war in Ukraine, the Central Office for the Fight against Crimes Against Humanity and Hate Crimes (OCLCH) is working on the surge in anti-Semitic acts that has been spreading since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7. More than 1800 facts were recorded in France this year, compared to 551 in 2022. To better combat this scourge and all the sources of hatred, this unit organized a seminar on 19 December at the headquarters of the General Directorate of the National Gendarmerie bringing together more than a hundred investigators.
Equipped with new detection and decision-making tools, they have five months to raise awareness among all units in the field about a phenomenon that is changing in dimension. General Jean-Philippe Reiland, head of the Office, takes stock of the situation for Le Figaro.
