Fallen trees, falling branches: Storm Zoltan caused many firefighting operations in the district of Erding over the Christmas weekend.

District – No more "Silent Night": Deep Zoltan kept the volunteer fire brigades in the district of Erding on their toes over the long Christmas weekend. Especially on the day before Christmas Eve, the emergency services had to go out again and again to remove storm damage.

Particularly often it was said: tree on road. For example, on Saturday afternoon, the east airport tangent near Niederneuching had to be closed. The Gelting fire brigade was alerted. She reports on her Facebook page that the comrades from Niederneuching removed a tree that had fallen onto the road there and the Moosinning fire brigade searched the route for more trees, while the Notzing and Gelting fire brigades each secured the road with a traffic safety trailer.

Several other weirs also had to remove fallen trees from roads or branches from trees because they were in danger of falling. The Mittbach fire brigade, for example, was on duty on Saturday afternoon on the ED20 district road between Pemmering (Isen municipality) and Neuharting (Forstern municipality) due to wind breakage. And the Finsing fire brigade was alerted to Neufinsing, where, together with the Poing fire brigade and its turntable ladder, they removed branches before they could fall.

The fire brigades of Hörlkofen, Ottenhofen and Oberneuching had to deal with trees in a dangerously inclined position. Also on the day before Christmas Eve, they were alerted to two trees that were in danger of falling over due to the wind. Due to the inclined position, the incident commander decided to request a turntable ladder in each case, writes the fire brigade on its Facebook page and thanks the comrades of the Altenerding fire brigade for their support with the telescopic articulated mast.

The Pastetten comrades had to cope with a somewhat different assault operation. At the parish church of St. Martin, which is currently scaffolded due to renovation measures and partly protected with tarpaulins, the scaffolding tarpaulin threatened to come loose. So two of the Pastetten comrades with the special training "Safe working in areas at risk of falling" were deployed to securely fasten the tarpaulin again, the fire brigade announced in the social networks.

Subsequently, the firefighters undertook a control drive in the municipal area. In the process, after consultation with the local fire brigade in Forstern, a tree was removed from the road to Straßham. VRONI POWER
