Video: Hebron resident who worked as an armed security guard at the mall/Israel Police Spokesperson's Office detained
The Tel Aviv District Court today (Wednesday) sentenced Mahmoud al-Momenti to 14 months in prison and 4 months suspended imprisonment, who entered Israeli territory without authorization, posed as an Israeli citizen and managed to fraudulently acquire weapons with which he worked as a security guard in a shopping complex in the city of Holon.
The offense of al-Momenti, 35, from Hebron, was exposed about seven months ago, when a resident of Nazareth complained that another person had a license to possess weapons in his name. Following the complaint, an examination was carried out from which it turned out that the license was issued through a security company in Holon. Patrol crews located the suspect at the scene and were shocked to see him working at a mall in the city as a security guard while armed with a gun and magazines for his work.

During interrogation, Al-Momenti confessed to the offenses attributed to him, and claimed that the forged identity card of a resident of Nazareth had been purchased by him in the Palestinian Authority. The investigation revealed that he was a suspect with many convictions for impersonation, forgery, attempts to enter Israel, debit card fraud, debit card theft, car theft, legal stay in Hittite and interference with a police officer in the performance of his duty.
During the interrogation, the suspect gave a detailed version according to which he posed as another person and applied for a job as a security guard. The suspect underwent various tests under a false identity, including an examination by a psychologist in order to deal with security and possess weapons.
