Suspect arrested for stealing weapons from combat zones in the south on 7.10.23 / Israel Police Spokesperson's Office
The State Prosecutor's Office today (Sunday) filed an indictment in the Tel Aviv District Court against Roi Yifrah, a 35-year-old resident of the city, accused of posing as a combatant and policeman and stealing weapons, ammunition and military and police equipment from the combat zone in the south. At the same time, the State Prosecutor's Office requested that he be remanded in custody until the end of the proceedings.
According to the indictment, which was filed through the Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office, on October 7 Yifrach arrived at the combat zone in the south and falsely presented himself in various positions, including a sapper, a fighter in the National Counterterrorism Unit, and as a member of the Shin Bet.According
to the indictment, on the basis of his impersonation and stay in the battle zone, Yifrach was able to access weapons, ammunition, and military and police equipment. During the period between the outbreak of the war and his arrest on December 17, according to the indictment, Yifrah stole a large quantity of weapons and ammunition, including grenades, magazines, bullets and more. In addition, a thief will flourish a lot of military and police equipment, such as uniforms, walkie-talkies, drones and more. He was even filmed with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu while the latter was visiting fighters.
Yifrah transported some of the weapons and ammunition in his vehicle to various locations. At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of weapons, ammunition and equipment in the car, in his apartment, and in his mother's apartment.

The indictment charges Yifrah with theft of weapons, transportation of weapons and ammunition, possession of weapons and ammunition, fraudulent receipt under aggravated circumstances, and theft under special circumstances.
The indictment states that the aggravating circumstances are reflected in the fact that "during the state of emergency in which the State of Israel finds itself, the defendant presented himself as a combatant and holds positions in security agencies and special units, in order to steal weapons, ammunition and equipment on a considerable scale, all while detracting from the weapons system of the IDF and the police."
At the end of the investigation conducted by the Police Investigation Department, the four were released to house arrest and at the same time the officer was removed from police activity. A decision on their case will be made later. Following developments in the investigation, a joint investigation team of the DIP and the police was established. The investigation was conducted by the Mesovim police station in the Tel Aviv District.
