Brig. Gen. (res.) Dadi Simhi and Dr. Yechiel Leiter, who lost their sons in the war, wrote to US Secretary of Defense Antony Blinken on behalf of dozens of bereaved families on Tuesday and asked to meet with him on his upcoming visit to Israel to voice their outcry.

In their appeal, the bereaved parents, some of whom have American citizenship, wrote that "our sons and daughters went into battle in order to eradicate the evil sowed by Hamas. We hear alarming reports that the US administration is pressuring the Israeli government to curtail operations and bring an end to the war. We think that would be a terrible mistake on a historic scale."
The bereaved parents thanked Blinken for the Biden administration's standing by Israel since the Oct. 7 massacre. "We thank President Biden and the American people for their unwavering support. In his meeting a few weeks ago with the families of the abductees held by Hamas, the president expressed his clear support for Israel's declared goal of eradicating Hamas-ISIS and their terrorist regime in Gaza. Many of the terrorists remain armed and ready to murder, rape, burn and loot again if we do not eradicate evil."

According to them, Hamas must not be allowed to threaten the residents of Israel. "Just as the U.S. fought and defeated Nazi Germany and ISIS, Hamas must be defeated. American heroes gave their lives to defeat this evil, just like our heroes who gave their lives to win this war. A Gaza free of Hamas would clearly signal that a hand waved at Jews and Israelis would be answered with a strong hand.
"We therefore wish to meet with you during your visit to Israel during the coming week. Our soldiers are fighting not only for Israel's security, but for the future of Western civilization. Therefore, our hope is that you will respond positively to our request."
