"You can't ignore the hype around the rice sheets," says the beloved influencer, who published a viral post yesterday with a special variation on the ingredient • We caught up with her for a bite-to-bite conversation and, of course, we also demanded an answer to the question - should the habiturti fear for her status? • Yes or no, five minutes and you have a tasty snack in hand

Rice sheets have long become a crazy trend on social media and are starring in the kitchens of millions of homes around the world in various variations. Especially those that try to be an alternative to favorite dishes in healthier versions.

After already earning the nickname "Mrs. Khvitorti" for her viral tortilla omelet, influencer Miri Cohen swept the web yesterday (Sunday) with an easy, quick, simple to prepare rice sheet recipe and, as requested, also a mehadrin Instagram, called rice sheet shells.

Between bites, we caught up with her for a brief conversation trying to figure out where the inspiration for the recipe she shared with her 383,<> Instagram followers came from, which received dozens of comments and thousands of views.

As someone known as Mrs. Khvitorti, how did you suddenly decide to replace the tortilla with a sheet of rice?

"I'm Mrs. Javitretti and I will always be loyal to her," she laughs, "but you can't ignore the hype around the rice sheets. Everything is done with it today, so I decided to try even after seeing the recipes running online with rice sheets, but in the micro version.

But the preparation of fried shells, not micro-baked.

"That's right. I really tried at first to prepare the dish in the microwave, as shown online, but don't believe everything you see in the videos online. It doesn't work. It doesn't come out as bloated and beautiful as frying, and I'm telling you this after dozens of attempts. In frying, it caught straight."

Cohen's dish,

Cohen says that many of the users who responded to the video also asked her why she doesn't prepare the sheets in the microwave, since it is a healthier version that does not include oil. "I explained to them that it doesn't come out the same. I even posted a series of videos on my story documenting myself trying to make the shells in the microwave, to prove that it really doesn't work. I don't use a lot of oil, even though I'm sometimes called a 'Moroccan spray' lady," she adds humorously, then emphasizes: "I don't pretend to be a health guru. Even though I have two children who exercise and maintain a meticulous diet, and I prepare food for them without oil. This recipe also has very little oil and its filling is healthy: it's a salad. It's delicious and it's easy to make."

Were you surprised by how much it caught on?

"It really caught on really fast. In less than 24 hours, I had already accumulated hundreds of comments in my inbox and tagged me in many videos documenting the preparation. I think this is just the beginning. I believe it will gain momentum and there will be more videos and tags. By the way, my start was with stuffing rice sheets long before I was Mrs. Khvitorti," she laughs again. "This is something I prepared for Elin (her daughter) three years ago. Also sticks of rice sheets. It tastes really good. Crispy like fries and also beautiful on the plate." The hype with the rice sheets is really crazy, but I'm still a tortillas woman."

Aline has already tasted the shells and confirms?

"Of course. She loved it very much and is a champion in the kitchen herself."

So how are the shells prepared? Here is Miri Cohen's recipe. Five minutes of preparation and you have a great snack that is both beautiful and delicious. Ingredients:

Rice sheets (the quantity, of course, depends on how hungry you are or how many diners you are),
olive oil, salt,
pepper, salad (of course, it can include any vegetables and seasoning you want. Miri's recipe is a simple and basic
salad consisting of avocado, tomatoes and red onions with a basic seasoning of olive oil, lemon and
salt)

How to prepare:

  • Cut the rice sheets into 4 quarters.
  • Heat a little oil in a pan.
  • Carefully place the rice sheet for a second until it swells and becomes a shell that will basically serve as the salad receptacle.
  • Carefully remove the prepared shells, fill with salad and arrange in a plate.
  • Enjoy!
