A 25-year-old man was seriously injured Tuesday morning in an explosion in a Shufersal delivery vehicle he was apparently driving, on Tom Lantos Boulevard in Netanya. The police suspect that this was an assassination attempt and have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
Police forces that arrived at the scene located weapons in a private vehicle. The police sapper examined the remains of the item, along with scanning the site to remove any additional risk to the public, and at the end of the activity transferred the findings to the Israel Police forensic laboratories for further extraction, as part of an investigation opened to examine the background and circumstances.

MDA paramedic Yosef Naharin and MDA emergency medic Avi Biton said: "When we arrived at the scene we saw a commotion, a 25-year-old man lying next to the vehicle conscious and suffering from multiple systemic injuries. We gave him medical treatment, including bandages and medication, and evacuated him in an MDA intensive care vehicle to the hospital in serious and stable condition."
This is the second criminal incident in the city in a day, after a car explosion occurred in the city yesterday, and in this case as well, it was believed to be an assassination attempt. In yesterday's incident, a 48-year-old man was lightly injured.
