The National Planning and Building Council, headed by Rabbi Nathan Elnatan, decided today (Tuesday) to grant an extension to several authorities, during which they will be able to complete the preparation and submission of an alternative plan for National Outline Plan 38. The authorities must submit the alternative plan by August. In all other municipalities, National Outline Plan 38 expired at the beginning of October 2023, and thus there has been no change.

The decision of the Planning and Building Council stemmed from the postponement of the local elections following the war, and also because the Extension of Deadlines Law contained a provision that postponed the expiration of the National Outline Plan by six months.
Rabbi Elnatan: "Due to the war and the postponement of the local elections, the National Council saw fit to allow an extension to those authorities that are working on an alternative urban renewal plan instead of National Outline Plan 38 and to finish the preparation of these plans."
