Later, Minister Gantz came to console the families of Capt. Or Yosef Ran, z"l, who fell in an encounter with terrorists in the village of Gaza on 7.10, and Maj. Gen. (res.) Amichai Israel Oster, z"l, who fell in battle in the Gaza Strip.
"I finished a visit to Samaria and was impressed by the massive offensive and defensive activity against Hamas and the terrorist organizations in the area. We focus on removing the Hamas threat, but we do not forget that our goal is to remove terrorist threats on all borders, and to live a safe life for the residents of Israel in the south, north, Judea and Samaria and everywhere," Gantz said at the end of the visit.

The member of the small security cabinet also addressed the security concerns of the residents close to the fence. "The issue of protecting the communities is central – there is a massive expansion of IDF forces that are engaged in defense missions at the borders and in the envelope of the communities. The best defense is offense. This is what we are doing on all fronts and will continue to do. This is part of the concept of war, and it will be an integral part both "the day after" and in the years after - the law of the Kasbah in Nablus will be the law of Khan Yunis. Wherever terrorism is, the IDF will act."
