A Tel Mond resident was arrested on Wednesday after barricading himself in a business in the community with knives, throwing objects at passersby on the street and injuring a police officer during the arrest.

Central District police officers who were called to the business following the report of the unusual incident found the suspect, a 50-year-old resident of Tel Mond, refusing to cooperate with the police negotiating unit. During the arrest, the suspect stabbed the police officer several times, and he was evacuated for medical treatment at Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba. After his arrest, he was taken for examination by the relevant authorities.
