This letter is unusual in scope, partly because it is signed by Knesset members from a variety of parties, academics and public activists, as well as many rabbis who vary in their opinions – conservative and liberal alike. Among others, ten Knesset members signed the letter, including MK Zeev Elkin, MK Nissim Vaturi and MK Limor Sun Har Melech. It was also signed by Rabbi Dov Lior, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, Rabbi David Stav, Rabbi Binyamin Clemensohn and many other rabbis.

Among the public and academic figures are Prof. Israel Auman, Prof. Nachum Rakover, Nahala Movement Chairman Daniella Weiss, Jonathan Pollard, former Awakening Party Chairman Ofer Berkowitz, Yesha Council Director General Shira Libman and more. The petition is also signed by bereaved families from the Iron Sword War.

"We, the undersigned, call for an immediate halt to the entry of trucks transporting fuel, gas and related equipment to the hostile enemy in the Gaza Strip, as promised by the Israeli government at the beginning of the war," the petition reads.

The signatories explained that "the fuel, gas and other means transferred to the Gaza Strip are used by the terrorist organizations to murder and kill our soldiers, endanger the lives of the abductees and impair the resilience of the home front!"
