Rescue under fire: Unit 669 fighters are fighting deep inside the Gaza Strip and are in every strategic location with the maneuvering forces. Dozens of teams of Unit 669 operate as an integral force in the infantry brigades and constitute an immediate rescue squad and initial medical treatment, joined by mounted teams of the unit's fighters together with the mobility unit to evacuate the wounded, remove the wounded from the line of fire and train improvised landing pads in the field.
The unit's helicopter crews load the wounded onto the helicopter, secure the site and continue the medical treatment until they reach hospitals in Israel.

Last month, the IDF Spokesperson's Office published documentation of the evacuations carried out quickly and under fire from within and near the Gaza Strip. The footage shows the helicopter crew carrying out complex operations with the help of the Cooperation Unit's assistance officers, who are responsible for the communication between ground and air forces.
In addition, the IDF published the activities of the Special Rescue Tactical Unit.
