The IDF Spokesperson allowed the publication on Thursday evening that last week a raid on a military compound belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization in the central Gaza Strip was completed, led by reserve fighters of the combat team of the 179th Brigade, Shayetet 13 and the Yahalam unit.

During the raid, the forces located a number of shafts leading to a tunneling network of hundreds of meters belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization. In addition, during the search, the fighters found a cache of weapons, including mortar shells, grenades and RPG missiles.
After locating the shafts, the forces of Shayetet 13 and Yahalam located additional shafts that led to an extensive underground network with booby-trapped explosive doors, in which the fighters found a site for manufacturing weapons in which machines, cooling fans, explosives and material used to extend Hamas' rocket range were found.

After the raid on the compound was completed, the route of the tunnels was destroyed by the engineering forces of the 99th Division and the Yahalam unit.
