An Alaska Airlines flight from Oregon to Southern California had to make an emergency landing Friday after a side of the plane broke off while it was still in the air.
Flight 1282 landed safely at Portland International Airport, Port of Portland spokeswoman Allison Ferre said in a statement.

No injuries were reported to the 174 passengers and six crew members on board, Alaska Airlines said.
The Federal Aviation Administration said it returned the plane to the airport after "the crew reported a pressurization problem."
The airline described what happened as an "incident." A photo of a passenger on board showed a full panel missing next to the fuselage, next to a row of seats.
