For hours, the fire brigade is in action in an industrial park on the A10 in Ludwigsfelde. Trucks have caught fire. Because there are hazardous substances in the tank, specialists are to be called in.

Ludwigsfelde - Due to the fire of trucks with hazardous substances in an industrial park in Ludwigsfelde, south of Berlin, specialists from Saxony have been requested. The operation continued on Saturday afternoon. The spokesman for the Ludwigsfelde fire department, Matthias Richter, said that specialists from a plant fire brigade from Böhlen in Saxony, who had experience with hazardous substances, should arrive on site.

There is still a truck on fire, from which liquefied gas is leaking. "There is currently no risk of explosion," Richter said. According to the fire brigade, several trucks were destroyed in the fire in the industrial park.

The site is under control, said a spokesman for the regional control center in Brandenburg/Havel. There were no indications of casualties.

The fire brigade was called out around 5:00 a.m. Explosion noises are said to have been heard.

The population was warned in the afternoon to keep doors and windows closed. According to information via the warning app, a safety radius of 400 meters around the scene of the incident applied.

Fire department spokesman Richter described that, according to previous findings, there had been an explosion early Saturday morning at a tanker truck with liquefied gas. The fire then destroyed four more trucks. So far, he does not know what they had loaded.

However, another tanker, which was again loaded with liquefied gas, was damaged. This vehicle was still on fire in the afternoon. It should burn down in a controlled manner and will be guarded by the fire brigade, Richter said.

An adjacent building was damaged by the fire. According to the fire department, three vehicles were able to be brought out of the danger zone in time.
