The operation of the fire brigade in the industrial area of Ludwigsfelde is dragging on because of a truck tank with liquefied gas that continues to burn. It could last until Sunday morning, said fire department spokesman Matthias Richter late Saturday afternoon. Specialists from a plant fire brigade from Saxony were expected in the evening. In view of the hazardous substances, they are to decide on the further course of action.
Ludwigsfelde - "Somehow we have to get the fire out," said Richter. The emergency services have been on duty since 5:00 a.m.
The police made sure that there were no people in buildings in an exclusion circle of 400 meters around the scene, as the fire department further reported. The Federal Agency for Technical Relief had arrived to illuminate the site for the work.
Since the morning, a truck with a liquefied gas tank has been burning. A second tank must be protected, according to the fire department spokesman. The emergency services cooled the vehicles.
Early Saturday morning, there had been an explosion in the industrial park not far from the A10. A tanker truck with liquefied gas is said to have been destroyed. According to the fire department, a total of five trucks burned out according to previous findings. According to the spokesman, not all vehicles contained liquefied petroleum gas. Dpa
