Presenter, singer or footballer, the list of celebrities who have been victims of burglary with or without kidnapping continues to grow. The latest known is Patrick Sébastien, who was targeted by burglars on December 21. The year 2023 has been a black year for this scourge and the slate regularly amounts to several hundred thousand euros. To scout before taking action, thugs now have a major asset: social networks. "Before, burglars preferred to act when the owners were away. They acted in small numbers. Now, the presence of the owners doesn't stop them. They come in greater numbers and often armed," Tony Vallée, delegate of the SGP Police 78 Unit, recently told Le Figaro.

The vast property of the star host of the Plus Grand Cabaret du Monde was targeted by a burglary on December 21, in Boulogne-Billancourt, in the Hauts-de-Seine region. The burglar(s) broke into the 450 m2 property by accessing through the back garden. This is the second time in four years that Patrick Sébastien has been targeted. So far, no one has been arrested.

On New Year's Eve, the home of Nikos Aliagas was the scene of an attempted burglary in Fontenay-sous-Bois (Val-de-Marne). The pavilion alarm went off shortly before 2 a.m. Damage to the gate and the lock of the front door had been noted. Five suspects were arrested at the scene.

Celebrity chef and pastry chef Cyril Lignac was robbed at his Paris home, near the Eiffel Tower, on the night of December 26 to 27. The damage amounted to 30,000 euros. One of PSG's goalkeepers, Alexandre Letellier, like many other footballers, was kidnapped and robbed at his home in Hardricourt in the Yvelines. The athlete, his partner and his two children, aged two and six, were woken up in the middle of the night at knife point. The footballer's wife was punched in the face and threatened with death. Three of the four perpetrators were arrested in the immediate vicinity of the scene.

At the end of September, it was Bruno Guillon's turn to be the victim of a burglary and kidnapping in Tessancourt-sur-Aubette, in the Yvelines. The assailants threatened the host, his girlfriend and their 14-year-old son with a handgun and a hammer. They attacked his girlfriend by tying her up and gagging her, before seizing jewellery and luxury leather goods. According to information from Le Parisien, a sponsor has since been arrested.
