Dillenburg – After a gruesome homicide in Central Hesse, the Limburg public prosecutor's office is investigating. A 26-year-old woman from Dillenburg (Lahn-Dill district) fell victim to the crime, as the police reported on Saturday. The crime already occurred in February 2023 on a field in the Haiger district of Weidelbach. The Criminal Investigation Department is currently on site to thoroughly examine the site and secure evidence, officials said.
The focus of the investigation is a 23-year-old man from Dillenburg. He is suspected of having lured the young woman – together with his partner at the time – to the remote meadow and brutally beaten her to death. After the crime, the woman's body is said to have been burned on the spot.

On Friday (5 January), the accused was brought before the magistrate in Limburg, who immediately issued an arrest warrant against him. The suspect's former partner was released after being questioned by the police.
