Yael Adar, who was informed on Friday of the death of her son Tamir Adar, who had been kidnapped since the surprise attack on October 7, published a post on Facebook today in which she wrote that her son was not murdered on Black Saturday morning as she was informed - but was abducted while still alive and murdered in Gaza.
"Tamir was seriously injured while defending his family and the community, in the absence of protection for the community," she wrote. "Tamir was kidnapped while still wounded and alive, and murdered in the absence of immediate medical treatment. The announcement of his murder on October 7 pierces the body and soul and diminishes the magnitude of the omission. I won't stop counting the days for myself - until we return Tamir for burial in Israeli soil. Tamir was murdered and is still there. It's over and we won't pay – we have to bring him back."

"That's the omission that was," she added. "Everyone is comfortable writing - murdered on 7.10 - as if it happened in one moment that Tamir did not feel and could not be saved. Had the state functioned, Tamir would have been saved. Had the state functioned, this failure would not have happened. I will continue to count the days and hours and minutes until Tamir is brought to a proper burial that honors his personality and devotion to this world."
In addition, she called for everything to be done to free all the live abductees: "Release them now - before it is too late for them too and then they write: 'Murdered on 7.10.' We lost the most precious thing. Don't let the other families lose their loved ones."
Yesterday, it was reported that Tamir Adar, a 38-year-old resident of Nir Oz who until now has been defined as abducted, was murdered and his body is being held in Gaza. His grandmother, Yaffa Adar, was kidnapped and released.
