A Border Police soldier, Sergeant Shani Shai Germai, 19, from Karmiel, fell tonight when the operational vehicle in which she was engaged in operational activity in the Jenin refugee camp was hit by an IED. The late Germay enlisted for service in the Border Police in August 2022. She is survived by her parents and three brothers.
The funeral will be held in the military section of the Karmiel cemetery today (Sunday), at 15:00.
The Border Police says that already in the initial training track, she stood out positively for her professionalism and special character. At the end of the training process, she was assigned to the Judea and Samaria Border Police for service in an operational company. "Shai was the first to report to every task and demanded that herself and those around her do their job in the best possible way."

Since the outbreak of the war, the Border Police has been operating in all sectors, especially in the Judea and Samaria sector, with reinforced forces to thwart terrorism and protect the lives of civilians. "The price we pay is heavy and we have many missions ready for us, but our fighters are determined and motivated to act anywhere and anytime for any mission to which it is required," the Border Police said.
