Faced with the tectonics of international geopolitical balances, the right is not unaware of the importance of the stakes of enlargement for the European Union. The Republicans, who will soon entrust François-Xavier Bellamy with the task of leading the battle for the European elections, are in the process of fine-tuning their doctrine on this thorny issue. To date, nine countries have officially applied for integration into the Union, which currently consists of twenty-seven Member States. The right wants to combine caution and pragmatism.
