Climbed into spinning airplane engine: Man dies at airport in the USA

According to officials from the Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD), the man had a ticket for a flight to Denver. Just recently, there was an incident on another flight to Denver.

The investigation began on Monday night (1 January) when an airport employee reported a malfunction caused by a passenger on the secured side of the terminal. Police began searching for the man. And on one of the runways, he found his personal belongings, including clothes and shoes.

The search lasted just 15 minutes when SLCPD police officers discovered the man unconscious in a spinning aircraft engine. The aircraft was de-iced at the time of the accident.

After the pilots were asked to shut down the engine, the rescuers pulled the man out of the fairing and began resuscitation measures. Unfortunately in vain, because the 30-year-old succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
