Yarden police officers who were called to the break-in at the mall in Hazor Haglilit were surprised to discover that two 13-year-old boys were behind the break-in. Last Thursday morning, police officers received a report of an outbreak at the Upper Galilee Mall in Hazor HaGalil and two suspects fleeing the scene.

Police forces who arrived at the scene began searching, and on one of the streets two youths were seen throwing property when they spotted the officers. Detectives arrested the two men and searched their possessions and seized cigarettes and tobacco products stolen from a lottery stand in the mall.

It turned out that the two men wore hoodies, entered the mall through a door left open at the bus station, and from there entered the stall and stole a lot of equipment, expecting to find scratch cards.

Yarden Station Operations Officer Superintendent Gal Kadosh said: "We were surprised to discover that these were 13-year-old children, and accordingly our treatment was different. They were sent home, summoned for questioning in the morning in the presence of their family members, and at the same time we reported the case to the welfare authorities."

The Galilee Region in the Northern District said that in such cases, the main goal of the Israel Police is to prevent future incidents, through rehabilitation with the help of various professionals, "I hope that this incident will be the first and also the last in which we will meet these children," said Superintendent Kadosim.
