After a lengthy undercover investigation conducted in recent weeks, police officers from the Tel Aviv-Yafo SWAT Unit arrested nine suspects involved in serious incidents of violence and large-scale drug trafficking. On Monday, a prosecutor's statement was filed against them, before an indictment is filed, and a request for remand until the end of the proceedings.

The undercover investigation against the criminal elements was conducted following information about the alleged operation of drug stations in southern Tel Aviv and the surrounding area, as well as in light of suspicion of serious violent offenses, including stabbings and aggravated assaults. As part of the activity, many investigative materials were collected about a number of places where the drug stations operate, which harm the sense of security of the residents of the area.

About a month ago, in the evening, some of the suspects went to the south Tel Aviv area and violently assaulted two men for drug trafficking, using knives that the suspects concealed after fleeing the scene.
During the undercover investigation, SWAT investigators were able to trace the suspects' route to the scene, as well as their escape route. Investigators were able to locate the two knives used by the suspects to stab and injure the victims.
140 doses of cocaine and NIS 14,500 in cash
It is suspected that behind the drug stations are criminal elements from Jaffa, Lod, Ramle and Bat Yam. At these stations, drug trafficking takes place, mainly cocaine. After the undercover investigation, Tel Aviv-Yafo SWAT detectives and other units raided the suspects' homes, where they found about 140 doses of cocaine, electronic scales, mobile phones and NIS 14,500 in cash. At the end of the search, the nine suspects were arrested and taken for interrogation.
Upon completion of the interrogation proceedings, prosecutor's statements were filed against all the suspects prior to the filing of indictments, as well as a request to detain them until the end of the proceedings.
