A search carried out by detectives from the Central Unit in the Tel Aviv District led to the arrest over the weekend of three suspects in illegal possession of M-16 weapons.

Over the weekend, Tel Aviv SWAT detectives were engaged in operational activity in central Israel, during which detectives noticed two vehicles with a number of suspects.

The officers stopped the vehicles in which three suspects (3, 22, 52) from central Israel were present, and searched the vehicles. During the searches, an M-35 weapon and other weapon parts were seized in one of the vehicles, which were disposed of and disassembled into pieces in plastic bags.

The three suspects were arrested and taken to the SWAT office for interrogation. Over the weekend, the suspects were remanded in custody at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
