Shahar Levy ("Master Chef"), who serves as a major in the reserves during the war in Gaza, began with a chilling post about the distress he and his business are in in light of the situation • "I get messages from time to time from regular customers complaining about the service or that something is missing in the kitchen there. Any such message is like a knife in the heart," he wrote

Chef Shahar Levy, known among other things for starring in the "Master Chef" show, published an emotional post on his Instagram page on Sunday, in which he asked his followers to come and support his café "HaShobach" while he was forced to be absent from it for reserve duty in Gaza. Levy serves as an officer with the rank of major and has been drafted since the outbreak of the Iron Sword War. The café with the deli and bakery, which he founded about a year and a half ago, is located at 26 Dam HaMaccabim Street in Tel Aviv and is also known for the tempting brunch it serves.

Beneath a smiling picture of himself in uniform from inside the Strip, Levy painfully spoke in a post about the complaints that reach his ears while he is not in business, and the impatience shown by some customers despite the complex situation.

"Come support the small businesses of the reservists, come support my café!" he called out to his followers, and in the same breath shared the jump he received from the reservists to his business last weekend after his employees failed to control the heavy load. "On Friday, the manager of my café called me and said, 'Dawn, I need you here!' I immediately got into the car and returned from reserve duty for a few hours to try and save the café. The place that is my home, which I have built in recent years. A direct link runs between my sense of commitment to saving my homeland in the reserves, and saving my business, which I haven't really been in for three months," he said.

He later shared his feelings over the dissatisfaction expressed by customers during his absence. "In between, I occasionally get messages from regular customers complaining about the service or that something is missing in the kitchen there. Every announcement like this is like a knife in my heart, no matter how much I hope they understand that I'm just bringing a convoy into Gaza, and I'm not at the top of it now. It's painful and scary! Accept things with patience and respect because I'm not there. Most importantly, share! May we all help each other, to get through this period together," he requested.

Levy then recounted an unpleasant incident that took place in his café while he was there. "On Friday, I went out for a few hours for coffee. Storms into the coffee stand, prepares another cup and a glass, and everything goes well. Then a woman in a black and green dress spits her coffee at me, spits. "I waited 10 minutes and he's cold too," she shouts at me with a pecked look. I look down, and get down on my knees, get into myself and sink like a cocoon for the time being. I think of the guy in the MLC, who was killed by a sniper, about the guys in the unit who fly wing to wing. I don't understand what kind of world she lives in and why I'm there. And that I actually want to go home, to Gaza, there," he concluded sadly.
