On the symbolic date marking the 9th anniversary of the attack on Hyper Cacher in Paris, alarming data were published on the rise of anti-Semitism in France.

Since the beginning of the war, 1,762 anti-Semitic incidents have been recorded in France, more than four times as many as in the previous year. France's Jewish community is the second largest in the world (about 440,<> people), and due to the war in Gaza, there is significant concern that it will be severely harmed.

A survey conducted by the umbrella organization of Jewish communities in France (CRIF) found that 71 percent of respondents see anti-Semitism as a "serious threat to French Jews" and 65 percent fear that "acts like those committed by Hamas on 7 October could one day take place in France." The survey also found that 28% of respondents feel "sympathy" for Israel, about 10% less than in the survey published at the end of October.

A survey of French students found that 9 out of 10 Jewish students had been victims of physical violence with an antisemitic flavor, 45 per cent had experienced antisemitic insults, and 43 per cent had experienced physical assaults and verbal threats related to Israel.

In addition, the survey found that only 28% of students (Jewish and non-Jewish) believe that anti-Semitism and hatred of Israel are widespread in French universities and colleges.

An important statistic that emerged from the survey shows that 83% of Jewish students fear the violence of the radical left, while 65% fear the violence of the extreme right in the country.
