The Central Bureau of Statistics today (Tuesday) published the data of the Urban Quality of Life Report after examining 90 different indices and comparing the 18 largest cities in Israel, with over 2022,<> residents. The findings are correct at the end of <>.

According to the findings, Kfar Saba leads in most quality of life indices. Kfar Saba leads in life expectancy, a sense of security in the dark, a percentage of matriculation eligibility, enrollment rates for ages 17-15, satisfaction with parks and green spaces in the residential area, satisfaction with cleanliness in the residential area, satisfaction with the economic situation and satisfaction with the balance between work and other areas of life.
For comparison, data from 42 common metrics available for all 18 major cities was used between cities. The cities that were ranked with a high overall score on quality of life indices were: Kfar Saba, Rehovot, Ramat Gan, Haifa, Herzliya and Rishon LeZion. The cities with a medium overall score on quality of life indices are: Beit Shemesh, Netanya, Ashkelon, Petah Tikva, Be'er Sheva, Holon and Tel Aviv-Yafo, and the cities with a low overall score on quality of life indices are: Hadera, Bnei Brak, Bat Yam, Ashdod and Jerusalem.

This index shows that Haifa rose in 2022 to the group of cities with a high overall score in quality of life indices, and leads in the lowest long-term unemployment rate, in the percentage of employed persons satisfied with their income, in trust in the health system, in post-secondary and higher education, and in trust in the justice system. Tel Aviv-Yafo leads in the employment rate, in the percentage of employees whose job allows advancement, in the lowest percentage of feelings of loneliness and in civic involvement.
Hadera ranks second in the percentage of those reporting disturbing external noise in the apartment. Rishon LeZion leads in the lowest percentage of households paying 30% or more for housing, out of net financial income, and in the lowest percentage of feelings of discrimination and depression. Netanya leads in trust in the government and is ranked second in the percentage of women in management positions in the public sector, and also leads in the quality of drinking water – with no deviations in coliforms.

Ashkelon dropped in 2022 to the group of cities with a medium overall score in quality of life indices. It leads in the rate of ability to influence government policy, ranks second in satisfaction with the area of residence and satisfaction with work-life balance. It also emerges that in 2022 there were no fatalities in road accidents in Ashkelon as well.
In 2022, Be'er Sheva rose to the group of cities with a medium overall score in quality of life indices and leads in the lowest percentage of dissatisfaction with commuting time, the highest percentage of affordable housing, and the percentage of women in management positions in the public sector. Bat Yam leads in satisfaction with public transportation. In 2022, there were no fatalities in road accidents in Bat Yam. Ashdod ranks among the first in the low percentage of involuntary part-time employees and a sense of ability to cope with problems.
