Government ministers are asked to approve in a telephone referendum on Tuesday a cut in government ministries in order to fund a compensation fund for businesses in the envelope.
Education Minister Yoav Kisch and Interior Minister Moshe Arbel oppose, among other things, that this is a cut in the salaries of employees in ministries and that it was not properly brought to the government for discussion.
Finance representative explains: The cut will not harm the work of the ministries
Meanwhile, Minister Amichai Shikli announced yesterday evening his request to end his term as Minister for Social Equality. However, he will remain in his position as Diaspora Minister – a ministry whose responsibilities overlap with that of the Foreign Ministry. Shikli also asked to return to being a member of Knesset, saying that there is "a need to make adjustments in the government in light of the enormous economic challenges we face."
