Washington resident Sean Bates tweeted that he found an iPhone on the ground that had fallen from the same plane. Surprisingly, the iPhone that was still in "airplane mode" was still active and according to the photos it uploaded, even its screen was not significantly damaged.
The same Sean wrote that after clarification, this was the second iPhone found on the ground from the same flight. "The battery was about 50% charged and you could see on the iPhone the receipt for the purchase of baggage on that flight," Bates said. The discovery of the iPhone that remained active and intact was reported on the world's major news sites, including CBS, The Washington Post, The Guardian, CNN and other websites.
