Likud MK again calls for escalation of fighting in the Gaza Strip • "I do not apologize and I have no mercy for those who remained there"

Likud MK Nissim Vaturi again called on Wednesday morning for an escalation of the fighting in the Gaza Strip, referring to past remarks that Israel should "burn Gaza."

In an interview with Kol Barama radio, Vaturi said that he does not see anything wrong with his past statements and that he "stands behind what he said."

"It's better to burn and take down buildings than for soldiers to get hurt. They came and burned us, our children," he said, adding: "Not that I'm comparing us to them, but when the nation wants to stand up and protect its children from such terrible acts of the Holocaust, you must come and enter with all your might, and that's what we did."

"I have no mercy for such people, certainly not in war when soldiers fall to defend the homeland. We can't be beautiful at home and say, 'Oh, there are innocents there.' If there is an innocent person there, we know about him. Whoever stays there should eliminate it, period. I don't even have a doubt."

He added: "I still say that Gaza must be burned. Let the terrorists not think that they are being pretended in front of them. I don't apologize and I have no mercy for those who stayed there."
