Highlights: "Three Body Problem" is based on a trilogy of bestselling Chinese books of the same name. The one-season series will tell the story of Ye Wenji, a young woman who makes a fateful decision that affects the future of all humanity. The series has been in production for more than three years, in part because U.S. politicians tried to halt production because of the Chinese Communist Party's systematic human rights violations in Xinjiang. All 30 episodes of the series were uploaded to the American service with English subtitles.

A new and highly talked-about series will soon be released on Netflix, starring three members of the cast of "Game of Thrones." Those who do not have the energy to wait for the series will already be able to watch the Chinese version of the series for free and without registration

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the brains behind the most popular TV series in history, are coming soon on Netflix with a new sci-fi mystery that, like Game of Thrones, is also based on a book – but this time it's a Chinese book.

"Three Body Problem" is based on a trilogy of bestselling Chinese books of the same name by author Liu Cixin, first published in 2006, and promises to captivate viewers to both familiar and strange worlds.

The one-season series will tell the story of Ye Wenji, a young woman living during China's communist cultural revolution in the 60s, who makes a fateful decision that affects the future of all humanity. From there, the show spans decades and continents, following a group of scientists and an unconventional detective as they confront an alien threat as the laws of nature begin to run wild.

The promotional videos released ahead of the series' release on Netflix on March 21 mostly feature mysterious and bizarre scenes, but they don't provide too much information about the content of the series.

However, those who want to know more about the story can already watch the Chinese version of the series, which premiered a year ago on Netflix's Chinese competitor, Tencent Video, and all 30 episodes were uploaded to the American service with English subtitles.

What is known about Benioff Weiss' series comes mainly from the trailers and executive producer Alexander Wu, who stated in an interview with Tudum, Netflix's private content promotion site, that the production aims to bring Liu's book experience to television, with the help of a cast that includes Game of Thrones stars John Bradley, Liam Cunningham and Jonathan Pryce.

The series has been in production for more than three years, in part because immediately after Netflix's announcement of the project, U.S. politicians tried to halt production because Liu justified the Chinese Communist Party's systematic human rights violations against Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang province in an interview with The New Yorker.
