"To do this in your country is something unique!" Élodie Lolliérou is over the moon. On 20 July, the 34-year-old semi-professional former cyclist, mother of two daughters aged 8 and 4, will be one of the 150 Olympic torchbearers who will take turns during her visit to Seine-et-Marne, from Fontainebleau to Meaux, six days before the opening ceremony of the Paris Games.

The first names of these privileged people, approved by the Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (OCOG), on the proposal of the Departmental Council, have just been revealed. Born in Brou-sur-Chantereine and on a bike from the age of 3, Élodie Lolliérou sees it as a recognition. "It touches me that people thought of me, because I've always been sporty. It's a reward for my entire sporting life," says the young woman, who now lives in Tigeaux (Seine-et-Marne).
