Mörfelden-Walldorf - Shocking act almost two hours before closing time: In a supermarket in Mörfelden-Walldorf in southern Hesse, a 38-year-old employee was shot dead in the evening. The 48-year-old alleged perpetrator then committed suicide, according to the Darmstadt public prosecutor's office and the police.
The man entered the discount store around 19:15 p.m. and shot the woman several times, it said. According to the current state of investigation, there had been a relationship between the victim and the 48-year-old in the past - it could be a possible motive. Investigations by the public prosecutor's office and the police were ongoing.
At the time of the crime, according to police and prosecutors, there were several customers in the market. They were not injured and were cared for by police officers and a chaplain.

The crime took place in the district of Walldorf in the district of Groß-Gerau. A glass door in the entrance area of the store is shattered. Next to the discount store is a sports field, around it are apartment buildings, and only a few kilometers away is Frankfurt Airport.
A man, who stands next to the barrier with flutter tape and says he lives in a house in the immediate vicinity, reports that he had been shopping in the discount store about half an hour before the crime.
