A total of 726 migrants who are in an irregular situation were found in a warehouse in the municipality of Cuaxomulco, in the state of Tlaxcala, Mexico, the National Institute of Migration (INM) reported on Sunday.

According to a statement from the INM, the group, made up of migrants from Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Ecuador and Nicaragua, included 75 unaccompanied minors, 108 women and 399 single adult men and 144 members of 45 families.

The authorities indicated that after an operation in which members of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), the National Guard (GN), state and municipal police, and the INM participated, four people who were guarding the premises were arrested for the alleged crime of human trafficking.

Official information indicated that the alleged traffickers had been handed over to the Attorney General's Office.

"The migrants were transferred to an auditorium of the municipality to carry out the corresponding administrative migration process, while the unaccompanied minors and family nuclei will be channeled to the National System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF)," the statement said.

The INM and members of Tlaxcala's health services reported that some of the migrants who had been treated for dehydration and nervous breakdown were already stable and did not need hospital care, with the exception of a pregnant woman who was taken to a medical center, reported La Jornada de Oriente.

Those rescued were taken to an auditorium in the municipality, where they were provided with food.

The authorities indicated that the migrants were going to be transferred to the Tapachula migrant station, in Chiapas, to define their migratory status, the news outlet expanded.
