After coronation: Denmark's prime minister makes an embarrassing blunder

Highlights: After coronation: Denmark's prime minister makes an embarrassing blunder. The error was online for 35 minutes before the Danish magazine "Se og Hør" wrote an article about it. A similar incident happened to Mette Frederiksen in 2022 when she wanted to pay tribute to Jonas Vingegaard in connection with the Tour de France. The Danes seem to forgive her and prefer to talk about the emotional coronation kiss between Queen Mary and King Frederik. That's why the bride from "The Mountain Doctor" came to you so familiarly.

Good preparation is everything? Unfortunately, not with Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen: Her Instagram account showed a blatant mistake – just when everyone was looking.

Copenhagen – The change of scenery in Denmark was unexpected, but the team led by Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (46) could easily have avoided a really embarrassing mistake with good preparation. Thus, all the world interested in the farewell of Queen Margrethe II (83) from the crown and the proclamation of Frederik X (55) as the new King of the Danes did not get a particularly good picture of Frederiksen's work.

Frederiksen's team makes a nasty mistake on Instagram – in the post for Frederik's coronation, of all things

And yet she had mastered her official part so well. 100,000 spectators on the square in front of the balcony of Christiansborg Palace held their breath in anticipation when the Prime Minister of Denmark, Frederik X, proclaimed Margrethe the new King of Denmark after 52 years of reign. Her words were stately, magnificent, and not only moved the king to tears.

As if with one voice, at Frederiksen's signal, the cheers of the Danes rang out from thousands of throats at Frederik's proclamation as king. The Prime Minister must also have quietly congratulated herself that everything had gone so smoothly and well over the balcony stage. But only a little later, the politician made a really embarrassing blunder.

A historic mistake can now be attributed to Mette Frederiksen's press team

The moment was to become history, Mette Frederiksen had apparently prompted her team to share the picture of the big event from her account. Unfortunately, the words were not particularly wisely chosen: "Long live His Majesty King Frederick X. The crown prince, who will now be our regent, is a king we know. A king who is important to us. A king we trust," Mette Frederiksen said in the caption. However, she made a mistake in her post: she tagged the wrong royal family. Instead of the Danes' official Instagram channel, she linked to the Norwegian royals.

Ouch. The error was online for 35 minutes before the Danish magazine "Se og Hør" wrote an article about it and the correction was made as quickly as possible. A similar incident happened to Frederiksen in 2022 when she wanted to pay tribute to Jonas Vingegaard in connection with the Tour de France: in the caption, she also accidentally published private notes.
