At the wheel of an Audi RS3, a man was arrested on Saturday, January 13 in the Ain department for speeding. The driver was spotted on the A42 motorway driving on the hard shoulder to overtake other motorists. Several drivers reported the driver to law enforcement.
The suspect, who was checked at 190 km/h (180 km/h retained) instead of 130 km/h on this stretch of motorway, was finally intercepted by a patrol of the Dagneux gendarmerie motorized platoon.
Vehicle seized
In view of the alleged offences, the vehicle was immediately seized and impounded for seven days. As for the driver, he had to pay a deposit of 750 euros and will be summoned to court in the coming months with a possible withdrawal of his licence.
