At the IIS Marconi Pieralisi in Jesi (Ancona) Artificial Intelligence is studied as a school discipline, the first institute in the Marche region and one of the few in Italy. The higher education institution has introduced the AI discipline on an experimental basis within the Computer Science and Telecommunications Track, in the fourth and fifth grades for one hour per week. We will talk about languages, Machine learning, Neural Networks and Deep learning, but also about ethics in Artificial Intelligence. Marcello Pigini, coordinator of the school's Department of Computer Science, explains that "AI is a discipline that is increasingly in demand in the world of work in our area as well, so it is intended to offer students the opportunity to significantly expand their cultural background and their future career opportunities."
"In particular," Pigini explains, "young people will be encouraged to design and use AI based on people's real needs by adopting a 'human-centric' approach, where technology must first and foremost respond to a real need, and do so in a sustainable way."
