Iran's Revolutionary Guards launched missiles at "terrorist" targets in Syria in retaliation for a twin suicide bombing in Iran in early January claimed by the Islamic State group, Iranian state media said.
"The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps ... identified the gathering places of commanders and key elements linked to recent terrorist operations, particularly the Islamic State, in the occupied territories of Syria and destroyed them by firing a number of ballistic missiles," he said Tuesday morning on his Sepah News website, adding that it was a "response" to the twin bombings in Iran in early January.
