The Ultraschall Berlin music festival celebrates its 17th edition from 21 to 26 January. The festival for new music, organized by rbbKultur and Deutschlandfunk Kultur, kicks off this Wednesday with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin under the baton of Taiwanese conductor Lin Liao.

Berlin - The program includes the world premiere of "Memory Code" by Ukrainian composer Alexandra Filonenko. In the trumpet concert "Dialogues and Circles" Simon Höfele is the soloist. Arnulf Hermann's "Tour de Trance" with soprano Anja Petersen is also on the programme.

According to information from Monday, the concerts of Ultraschall Berlin will take place in the Haus des Rundfunks, in the Heimathafen Neukölln and in the Radialsystem. All concerts will be broadcast live or after the festival on rbbKultur and Deutschlandfunk Kultur. Dpa
