After it was reported yesterday (Sunday) that Colombia, Chile and other countries are categorically forbidden to fly to regular and permanent personnel, and permanent IDF soldiers were not allowed to fly to a number of countries, which until recently included mainly enemy countries and countries with particularly high risk, we are now publishing for the first time that another country has joined the list of countries to which some permanent personnel are not allowed to fly - Thailand.

In conversations with permanent officials, they say that although they have received permission in the past to fly to Thailand, in recent days the procedures have changed, and some are receiving notices prohibiting them from visiting the country, not only in Tier 4 designated areas, but throughout the country. In correspondence obtained by Israel Hayom between permanent servants and the IDF, it was forbidden to fly to all of Thailand. In our examination with the IDF Spokesperson, they explain that each case is examined individually.

On the NSC's list of warnings, Thailand is mostly set at Level 1, but small parts of it in the south of the country are set at Level 4, the highest. It is important to note that these are not tourist areas and the tourist islands are defined as level 1, the lowest.

Following Israel Hayom's request, the IDF removed the list of countries prohibited from flying to regular and permanent personnel from their website, explaining that each case will be examined individually and that there is no blanket ban on flying to Thailand, but rather it is necessary to request approval in advance and each case will be examined individually.

Despite the division of risk levels in the country according to the National Security Council, the IDF informed some of the permanent service members that all of Thailand was forbidden to fly to regular and permanent personnel. It is important to emphasize that the guidelines change all the time, so it is highly recommended to check in advance whether it is possible to fly to a certain country before purchasing a flight ticket.
