On Monday, the Shin Bet revealed several online platforms suspected of being operated by Iranian security officials. After it was revealed that a network for recruiting and activating civilians had been activated, it has now been permitted for publication that some of the missions were photographing the residential addresses of members of the security establishment and of elements appearing frequently in the media who speak out against Iran.

"Recently, Iranian security agencies have been making cynical and manipulative use of online platforms and promoting activity vis-à-vis the families of abductees – initiating gatherings near the families' homes, sending bouquets of flowers and messages to their homes," the Shin Bet said in a statement. "As part of the protests for the return of the hostages, Iranian security officials are actively promoting on these platforms the hanging of signs drafted by the Iranians, photographing demonstrators. Filling out 'surveys' and more."

The platforms from which the Shin Bet warned:

"Tears of War"

Among the fictitious profiles addressing Israelis on behalf of the platform were "Dvora," "Noa" and "Tamir," about which warnings have already been issued in the past.
