Carrying a recycled steel torch for 200 m at arm's length will be a walk in the park for Romain Carlier. "My brother and I just went up three flights of stairs with a sofa, so it's not a one-and-a-half-kilo Olympic flame that's going to scare me," he says, laughing.

As officially unveiled on Monday by the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee, this tall man of 1.88m and 90 kg is one of the hundred lucky people who will take part in the Olympic torch route in the Oise on 18 July.
