Moosinning - At the New Year's reception of the parish of Moosinning it becomes clear: The church is urgently looking for participants.
"Welcome the New Year, come to chat" – this motto, issued by Mayor Georg Nagler, was once again followed by around 60 community members of Sankt Emmeram to meet at the Oberwirt. Previously, the parish council had invited to a service in the church, celebrated by Father Dariusz Parzych.
In his sermon, the clergyman had asked the question of where God was. The head of the town hall took this up again in the tavern hall and explained that where people come together, God is also among them. He thanked the altar servers for their faithful service at the altar and in the successful carol singing campaign, and he remembered the recently deceased pastor Franz Gasteiger (we reported).
The personnel situation in the parish of St. Anna was difficult not only because of his loss, and so he encouraged the congregation to actively participate in the elections to the church administration in November. In his short greeting, the priest also emphasized the personnel changes, explaining to those present that Father Michael Bayer no longer holds the office of dean.
But there were not only sad moments at the reception, because Verena Bies and Lisa Bauer had rehearsed the small funny play "The Guardian Angel Shoes" with 15 children of the traditional costume youth. And so the boys and girls, all dressed in long white robes and with a gold star in their hair, came onto the tavern stage. Here they were explained to them by supposedly more experienced angels how they should behave in their task as protectors on earth – clearly Bavarian in tone, sometimes even harsh, the audience had great pleasure.
For some of the children it was probably their first stage appearance, but the young actors had learned their relatively long lines well and received a lot of applause for their performance.
With a lot of emotion, municipal councillor Marieluise Eder also presented her impressions, which she had experienced in August 2023 on a trip with 90 young people to the World Youth Day in Lisbon. Accompanied by beautiful photos, she described the experiences of the two-week trip to Portugal, mostly at 40 degrees Celsius during the day, sometimes in very cramped rooms: "At first, we were accommodated in a hall, 200 people, with only four sinks."
Later, the group had somewhat better conditions. In the end, everything was outshone by that "priceless experience of having met people from all over the world as well as the Pope."
