The chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the Hamburg parliament, Dennis Thering, has described the resignation of Education Senator Ties Rabe as a heavy blow for Mayor Peter Tschentscher (both SPD). With Rabe, Tschentscher is losing "his most experienced senator and longest-serving minister of culture," the opposition leader said on Monday.
Hamburg - At the same time, he praised the merits of the retiring senator. "With Education Senator Rabe, we were able to conclude a reliable school peace for our city, and even if there are differences in detail, we must acknowledge his contribution to Hamburg's school landscape," said Thering. He wished the 63-year-old "above all good health and a good recovery".
As announced on Monday, Rabe is resigning from his office with immediate effect for health reasons. According to dpa information, the successor is to be the former deputy SPD parliamentary group chairwoman Ksenija Bekeris. Dpa
