Robbers attacked an armoured van in front of the BCP bank in Champigny-sur-Marne, in the Val-de-Marne, on Monday morning, Le Figaro learned from police and judicial sources, confirming a report by BFMTV. At around 6 a.m., the cash-in-transit workers were targeted by automatic weapons fire as they exited their vehicle.

They retaliated with their service weapons and put the attacker(s) to flight," said the Créteil prosecutor's office, which has opened an investigation for "attempted intentional homicide by an organized gang, attempted robbery with a weapon by an organized gang and criminal association."
Fifteen shell casings found
At the scene, the first responders found about fifteen cartridge cases on the road and on the forecourt of the bank. No one was injured in the shooting.
The investigation has been entrusted to the Brigade for the Repression of Banditry (BRB), which is trying to find the criminals, determine their number at the time of the attack and what weapons they used.
