Bruce Toussaint has already seven shows under his belt. On January 8, the presenter launched with great fanfare the TF1 morning news, broadcast between 7 a.m. and 9:35 a.m. from Monday to Friday. In a new look, sporting a woollen cardigan. "I'm still fumbling around," the journalist admitted on the set of "Buzz TV" on Tuesday. Initially, I thought it would be nice to have a different look than what I had on a news channel. At the same time, the jacket and the shirt, I've always been like that on the air. I go from one to the other," he adds.

While the morning show had a strong curiosity effect (with an average of 700,000 viewers watching the first episode and 15% audience share), the figures now fluctuate between 235,000 and 300,000 people (8% audience share). On Monday, around 242,000 curious people were gathered (7.7% audience share). Bruce Toussaint is not disappointed. "These are pretty logical numbers given the launch and the adventure we're embarking on. There hasn't been a morning show on TF1 for forty years, he recalls. We're trying to re-establish a habit. As we know, there is unfortunately no evidence of television in France in the morning. That's just the way it is. You have to create this appointment, set it up. I look at the numbers obviously, it would be unprofessional not to do that. As soon as we're above what last year was done, I consider that we've completed the first part of the contract. Let's see you in a few weeks," he continues.

He added that his management has not set any audience targets for him to achieve. Bruce Toussaint estimates that it would nevertheless take a year and a half to set up this event. "The half-season we're living through and then the whole season," he adds. But no one is automatically renewed for September, it doesn't exist. These are chain decisions that can happen at any time. But I think it takes many months to set up appointments."
Bruce Toussaint has finally come back on his decision to leave BFMTV for TF1 in the middle of the season. Although he refuses to talk about his appointment with his former boss Marc-Olivier Fogiel, he admits that the media frenzy surrounding his transfer has tested him somewhat. "I want this to be my last transfer window, the one I've experienced. Contrary to what many people may think, that's a lot of sleepless nights. I, who tend to be discreet in general, it was a failure. If I'm given the opportunity to stay at TF1 for ten years, I'll sign tomorrow, give me a pen!" he said. "A transfer window is always complicated. You also leave a team, you find another one you don't know. These are challenges, pressure. I've already had pressure in my career, but this time it was a lot," he admits.
