Highlights: A young Yemeni man, who identifies himself as Rashed al-Khedad, recently shared photos and videos on Instagram and TikTok. His videos went viral, garnering tens of thousands of views – one of which even crossed the million-dollar mark. Users expressed appreciation and even admiration for his appearance, comparing him to celebrities such as Timothée Chalamet. Some supporters claimed he was "not a pirate" but simply "a simple guy visiting the biggest publicly available attraction in Yemen"

In recent weeks, the world has fallen in love with the new 'acquisition' of Houthi pirates – a logger who shoots videos of the takeover of Western ships and whose pretty face has been compared to that of the Hollywood star

Timothée Chalamet is probably the most respected actor of this century. At the age of 28, he already holds 39 awards and 95 nominations. No wonder he gets "doubles" too. He will probably like his new "double" less – because he is nothing less than a terrorist and pirate from Yemen. We used Forefront to tell about the pirate who hijacks ships and hearts.

A young Yemeni man, who identifies himself as Rashed al-Khedad, recently shared photos and videos on Instagram and TikTok, under the usernames @r42r43 and @rro1o (which was shut down by TikTok in the past <> hours and replaced by a new account), respectively. Among other things, he uploaded documentation of the takeover of the cargo ship Galaxy Leader, which the Houthis hijacked two months ago, surrounded by Yemeni flags.

His videos went viral, garnering tens of thousands of views – one of which even crossed the million-dollar mark. On Instagram, he already has nearly 24,000 followers. But the reason for this was not the attempt to see exactly how a band of pirates took control of a ship – this is hard to learn from the short videos – but the appearance of al-Khadad. Users expressed appreciation and even admiration for his appearance, comparing him to celebrities such as Timothée Chalamet.

"God, you're beautiful," wrote a TikTok user. "Hey, if [you] are ever in America send me a message," another added. But the highlight was probably the commenter who shared his video on Twitter and added two words: "Timhothi Shalamah."

The lightness of al-Haddad's posts, which besides photos from the takeover in question also shared an alleged hack into the Israeli television channel i24News, during which his picture was displayed instead of that of Benny Gantz, attracted interest. An X user wrote that his videos show that "Yemeni pirates posting casual videos on TikTok while the entire core of Western imperialism whines about their blockade of their ships must be the funniest nonsense of 2024."

Among the many posts discussing his content, there have also been discussions about the very legitimacy of admiration for him. Some supporters claimed he was "not a pirate" but simply "a simple guy visiting the biggest publicly available attraction in Yemen." Others support him and the activity in which he is allegedly involved, arguing that it is justified anti-imperial activity. However, al-Khedad has become an international celebrity amid a cauldron of regional and international tensions, and judging by the number of times he shares his own videos with the comments that accumulate on them, he enjoys every moment.
