On Monday evening, a truck rolled into a river in the district of Forchheim and sank there. The rescue operation entailed a large-scale operation.
Hausen – Tricky operation on Monday evening, 15 January, in Upper Franconia. In the district of Forchheim, a truck had to be recovered from the Regnitz. This was not an easy task for the required emergency services, especially since the wintry weather was a challenge in itself.
Truck sinks into river in Upper Franconia – large-scale operation follows
According to News5.de's report, a truck rolled into the Regnitz on a sloping road near Hausen in Upper Franconia on Monday evening. He then sank into the river. The truck had been used for tree felling work.
With temperatures hovering around freezing, a large-scale rescue operation was therefore required. According to the report, divers from the Federal Agency for Technical Relief, the German Life Saving Society, the rescue service and the police were on site. Fortunately, however, there was no one in the truck.

No injuries in truck accident – police investigate the cause
Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident. The recovery of the truck was also successfully completed in the evening. However, how exactly it could have come about that the vehicle had rolled into the Regnitz, is now being investigated by the local police. (FHZ)
