In Hesse, a man shot an Aldi cashier and then killed himself. The two were probably a couple in the past.
Mörfelden-Walldorf – In Mörfelden-Walldorf in Hesse, a man shot an employee of an Aldi supermarket. He then kills himself, according to police.
Man storms into Aldi store and points gun at cashier
According to officials, the 48-year-old man entered the market around 19:15 p.m. He targeted a 38-year-old employee. After that, he pointed the gun at himself.
For both of them, any help came too late. There were several other customers in the store during the attack, but they were unharmed. They were cared for by the police and a chaplain. According to unconfirmed information, the perpetrator was masked.

According to the current state of investigation, the two dead were in a relationship in the past. This could be a motive for the act. However, the investigation is still ongoing.
Numerous police officers secured the scene and questioned witnesses. According to the police, there is no danger to the population. Mörfelden-Walldorf has about 35,000 inhabitants and is located in the district of Groß-Gerau.
